Course Leader: Monica Smith, Employee and Organisational Develpment, University of Glasgow
Details: Take the opportunity to explore the mentoring process and the role of a mentor. This practical session will allow participants to examine the skills, behaviours and values essential for effective workplace mentoring and will provide potential mentors and mentees with the opportunity to practice the skills. Through a series of discussions and interactive exercises the session will cover the essentials of effective mentoring alongside potential pitfalls and problems. This workshop will help participants who are interested in becoming mentors for the first time and will provide potential mentees with an understanding of the mentoring process and how having a mentor can help support career development.
Objectives
